Our Commitment
Vigil Medical LLC is committed to ensuring that the Vigil mobile application and this website are accessible to people with disabilities. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards and follow platform-specific accessibility guidelines for iOS (Apple Human Interface Guidelines) and Android (Material Design Accessibility).
Accessibility Features in Vigil
- Screen reader support: All interactive elements include accessibility labels for VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android).
- Dynamic type: Text sizes respect the user's system font size preferences.
- High contrast: The app supports both light and dark modes with sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for text).
- Haptic feedback: Touch interactions provide haptic feedback for users who may not see visual changes.
- Large touch targets: All buttons and interactive elements meet the minimum 44x44pt touch target size recommended by Apple and Google.
- Audio alarms: Medication reminders include both audio and visual alerts, with vibration patterns for users who cannot hear the alarm.
- Simple navigation: The app uses a standard tab-based navigation pattern familiar to all mobile users.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to address them:
- Some chart visualizations (adherence graphs) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide text-based alternatives where possible.
- The OCR prescription scanning feature requires visual interaction with the camera, which may not be accessible to users with visual impairments.
