Make sure notifications are enabled for Vigil in your device settings. On iOS, go to Settings > Notifications > Vigil and enable "Allow Notifications" with "Time Sensitive" turned on. On Android, ensure Vigil is not restricted by battery optimization — go to Settings > Apps > Vigil > Battery and select "Unrestricted." Also check that Do Not Disturb is not blocking Vigil's notifications.
Yes. By default, all your health data is stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage. We never sell or share your data with advertisers. If you enable the optional cloud sync (Premium), your data is encrypted with AES-256 before leaving your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Go to Settings > Care Circle (Premium feature). Tap "Add Caregiver" and enter their name and contact information. You can choose what data to share with each caregiver. They will receive automatic alerts if you miss a dose by more than 60 minutes.
iOS: Open the Settings app > tap your name > Subscriptions > Vigil > Cancel Subscription.
Android: Open Google Play Store > tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Vigil > Cancel subscription.
Your Premium features will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
To delete local data: Go to Settings > Delete All Data within the App. This permanently removes all medications, schedules, and logs from your device. For cloud data (Premium users), submit a request through our Data Deletion page.
Yes. Vigil is designed as a local-first app. All core features — medication reminders, dose tracking, and alarm sounds — work completely offline. An internet connection is only needed for drug interaction checks (openFDA), cloud sync (Premium), and caregiver notifications.
The drug interaction checker uses the openFDA database to identify known drug-drug interactions. It also includes common food-drug interactions (e.g., grapefruit with statins) and supplement interactions. However, it is not comprehensive and should not replace advice from your pharmacist or doctor.
